Why I do not believe in ghosts

There are many thing I don't believe anymore. Santa Claus, the easter Bunny, and so on. But there is some thing that I have never believed in: the ghosts. Even though it can be as simple as that, I think it needs an explanation.

First of all, I always wondered why strange sounds came from a place or thought if I the strange image I saw was real or not. And suddenly I realized that everything that my friends considered ghosts were just wrong perceptions.

Time ago a friend of mine told me he saw a ghost just behind me. He said it was an old woman just standing behind me, so I turned around and looked all around the living room and there was nothing. He probably saw that because he was drunk (actually, he was) or because he is near sighted.

I know that ghosts might exist, but I have never seen or felt something strange, even though I have trained my mind always; my perception is crystal clear when it comes to perceive weird things.

Everything explained here is just my personal opinion. I do not intend to make you believe that ghosts do not exist for you since you may actually believe in them. Even if I do not seem to be interested in these stuff, I actually do; I'm always being interested in the uncanny.
