How children party nowadays
The way young people party has changed a lot since the last few years and I guess it is related to the new trends we see each day. Years ago there were not many trends; therefore, there were rockers, metalheads, hip hop fans and so on, who had a very similar way to party. However, now there are a lot of trends in which kids (I mean from 12 years and more) participate and they do things that young people did not use to do in the past years.
Decades ago, people used to go to parties to dance and have a good time. Of course there were always drugs and alcohol, but that was not a priority. The real goal was to have a good time and have fun and the main idea was to spend time with friends.
Now that there is a lot of trends and ways of being, but all these ways of being are closely related to the trend people say to belong to. For example, our Chilean Pokemones were really homogeneous (I say "were" because no one follows that trend currently) and all the "pokemones" acted very similarly: they used to make out with almost everyone, I mean, if a "pokeguy" had the chance to make out with 100 "pokegirls" he would do so!
Something similar occurs with the new trend, the "wachiturros". These chavs have taken this "make-out-with-a-lot-of-people concept" to a new level. They would actually have sex with as many girls as possible. This gives kids having the possibility to fuck at an early age, which impresses me as I, by that age, was playing pokémon on my gameboy. These trends and ways of being have given young people the chance to experience new things prematurely, which can be wrong or right depending of your point of view.
It is important to see this phenomenon as a natural process of experiencing new things. It is better to talk to our children about what usually goes on in a party nowadays and advising them about how to take care of themselves, so that they can see what is going on and decide what is wrong or right; they can make the difference by living their lives, but their parents MUST warn them and give them advises in order to avoid painful and bad experiences.
